I was excited to give these boots a try and once they came I eagerly tried them on. Seeing as though most boots need to be worn in, I discounted the way they felt the first few days. Eventually, I ended up buying higher-end soles and the boots have been fine. They’re not nearly as comfortable as my Red Wings, but I am impressed with their resiliency and how well they prevent water from seeping in when I wind up trudging through a deeper than expected puddle. The vibram sole shows little wear after several weeks, so I’m satisfied in that regard, otherwise, I’m disappointed in the comfort level. If these boots can beat a pair of Red Wings, it’s primarily due to their endurance. The Red Wings I own fell apart quickly (little things like button hooks and straps). These boots are more like 3.5 stars. I probably would try another style from Rock Rooster before I decide whether or not I like the brand. If you’re in need of a boot that lasts, this is it.

These are real workmen boots! They are tough, water doesn't get through them, and they hold up. Tried another boot for my husband, and it was advertised as a man's work boot!However they only lasted 3 weeks and they were worn out! The soles were smooth, the laces broke, the insides had holes in the lining! AND they were supposed to be work boots for men!These are fabulous! He has been wearing them for 10 months everyday of the month, and they are still going, and have a lot of good leather on them. No holes in the lining, and the soles are still in wonderful condition!
