Great "No Break in" Boots!
I stumbled across they boots a few years ago, and gave them a try. OUTSTANDING! Little to no "break in" right out of the box. As a Bladesmith, I spend a lot of time in the hot/forging shop, and with the addition of metatarsal guards, they are a great boot! In fact I "burned through" one pair, ordered another, and have found them to be great footwear for what I do. About my only complaint is that they are fairly heavy, but any steel toed boot is. Most recently I found/ordered the AK659 zippered boot with the composite safety toe, and they fill any void that the AK050 boot might have. I've recommended these boots to a number of other Bladesmiths, and have heard nothing but "Thank Yous" from those folks. Thanks so much for offering a great pair of boots!

Been wearing these every day for 10 months, wearing nicely. Expect to get another year out of them.Side zipper is heavier than any other boot I previously purchased. I use soap to lube the zipper.Some folks reported that the zipper rubbed their ankle, I have not had this happen, there is a flap that keeps the zipper from doing so. The inserts that came with the boots, to me, were not very comfortable. Just replaced them. True to size. Would buy again.

Comfort is spot on, although I should've gone 1 size up. But wideness is perfect fit is really good. Next time I buy a pair I'm buying 1 size up. Problem is idk when these will wear out. The way I see it these are made to last. After 1 day of using them the fit better than any other boot or shoe out there. They feel like they cost 300 or more. They are lightweight but strong warm but cool. Adjustable in so many ways. I love these boots so far. And to top it off they are so easy to take off and put them back on. I mean seriously good boots. I might buy some just for riding my motorcycle. I highly recommend you give them a try but go for .5 to 1 size above for a little more room. Other than that perfect boots.

I have come to love these boots. There was a bit of a break in period. Bit it was short compared to other boots I have worn. The zipper on the side is great. The boots are great for people with wide feet and are true to size.

My Second Pair....Hope they haven't slacked up on quality!
I purchased a pair of these boots right at one year ago, after getting disgusted with Keen's falling apart in a matter of MONTHS....and Keen refusing to honor their warranty. That aside, I was impressed with my first pair of Rockrooster boots. I wore them daily working in my Blacksmith shop, and they exceeded my expectations in nearly every area. I say "nearly", because the soles wore completely through in just a year of daily wear. Otherwise they are one of the most comfortable steel/safety toed boots right out of the box, with minimal "break in" required. In today's world of generally poor quality, I suppose these boots are a "bright spot", but I just can't get past $100+ boots with soles that wear completely through in a year's time. Hence the 4 star review. We'll see how the second pair holds up.

I bought these boots as a substitute for dress shoes for my volunteer work on a tourist railroad because I developed arthritis in my feet, and I felt that I needed additional support and protection. I have worn them twice now. The extra support that I needed is definitely there. It seems to be much more difficult for me to aggravate my arthritis while wearing them. The zipper makes it much easier to get them on and off. It’s a great idea, but might also be a weak point because zippers have a tendency to fail. Only time will tell. These boots also look very nice. Nobody noticed that I was wearing boots instead of shoes. The only downside is that the leather around the ankles is very stiff and irritating, but this should be temporary because it should loosen up as I wear the boots more.Overall a great product.

Ok, but insides wore out.
Had these for 2 months and the heel liner worn out in both boots. There is a hard plastic under the liner. It is hurts and is uncomfortable for even driving. Side zipper is nice.
